There are various types of upholstery depending on the fabrics they are made of and this means you should clean them with the proper cleaning methods for each type. These days one of the most popular fabrics are linen because they absorb easily and are breathable. They are used not only for making upholstery, but also for clothes, sheets, towels and so on. And if you want to learn how to treat and clean properly this fabric type, read the article below.

When dealing with linen fabrics, you should keep in mind that they can be easily shrunk when first washed, they wrinkle easily and are not very easy to clean. However, they should be treated just as the other types – on a regular basis if you want to see them good looking longer.

When it comes to linen upholstery cleaning, never forget to check the manufacturer’s label to know what is your type – washable in a machine or suitable for dry cleaning only. If your upholstery is dry clean only, you will need to hire professional cleaning services to deal with it.

If your upholstery needs machine washing, you can do it with the following instructions. Remember that linen fabrics don’t attract and keep dust on them, so you don’t need to vacuum the upholstery, only brush it quickly and gently to return its fresh look. Brush every part of the upholstery such as cushions, back and other sides.

If there are soil stains on the upholstery, you can remove them with a wet cloth. Dampen a clean cloth in water with normal temperature and dab with it the stained areas. For stains coming from make up, use the method for removing with alcohol and wash it after use with water.

At the end of linen upholstery cleaning, prepare for machine or hand washing. For coloured or white fabrics, you should use only hot water and for dark colours – cold water. When washing, use a mild detergent mixed with warm water. If there is a soap residue after the washing, you only need to rinse it with water and it will be easily removed.

If you have to deal with grass stains, then you may need a little help and we are the people who will give it to you! Grass stains can be really hard to remove, especially if they are left to sit for a long period before the cleaning.

There are different ways to treat grass stains. However, not all of them are as effective as you need them to be. So, keep reading to learn the tips given by London cleaning professionals on how to remove grass stains on clothing and carpets.

1. To get rid of grass stains on clothing that are washable you have to treat the affected area with a paste of powdered enzyme laundry detergent. Apply the detergent to the grass spots and leave it sit in a warm place for about 40 minutes. Then remove the mixture and apply another solution of 2 parts water and 1 part ammonia or white vinegar. Blot until the stains disappear. Rinse the affected garment in cool water and wash as usual, by following the label instructions.

2. To remove grass stains from non washable garments you have to use some pre-treatment detergent to treat the grass stains. Let it sit for about 20 minutes, then use an eyedropper to apply a mixture of 2 parts of warm water and 1 part ammonia or white vinegar to the stained areas. Blot until you gain the wanted results. Rinse the garment with warm water and let dry. If the affected area persists, you have to contact some professional dry cleaner to help you.

3. Last but not least, if you have grass stains on your carpets and rugs, cleaning London experts recommend carefully sponge the affected area with some dry cleaning solution. Apply a dry spotter to the stain and place an absorbent spot dampened with the spotter over the area. Let it sit as long as it will take the pad to pick up the stain. You have to make sure that the pad stays damp during the procedure. When the stains are gone, you have to clean the area with the dry cleaning detergent, then let the area dry. Repeat the process if necessary.

When you rent or buy a house the chances are for the place to be pretty uncosy. The reasons for that are many. On the first place, the landlord cannot predict what sort of taste you may have so usually these places are almost empty with purpose. Other thing is that sometimes the tenants are not very dutiful and they damage most of the furniture. Because of such people, some landlords are not ready to supply many things but only the most necessary ones. So, you may need to bring with yourself a carpet, some curtains etc. This means that you will have to take a good care of these which involves a lot of cleaning.

So, here are some cleaning tips recommended by professional carpet cleaning London companies.

Vacuum cleaning is one of the things that can help you to deal with the dust and the dirt in the home. If you do that often enough, you will see that the colours of the rug and the overall quality will not decrease as significant as if you clean rarer.

Some positive habits can also help you to maintain good looking carpet. Start taking your shoes off when you enter your home, put a mat in front of the front door, clean the palls of your dog after walk, do not carry food all over the house. All these simple steps can contribute for the nice and fresh look of the rug.

However, sometimes, no matter how hard we try, our carpet get dirty. In such cases, the main thing we have to do is to act as fast as possible and remove the stain. If this is not possible at the moment, we will have to hire professional carpet cleaning company for the job. These guys have all the needed equipment and skills so their work will surely be very good.

So, if you want to live in a nice house no matter if it is your or it is a rented one, take a good care of your carpets and rug.

Everyone who is a proud owner of antique furniture knows that their often cleaning destroys their value. This is even more probably to happen if it comes to antique upholstered furniture because they are often made of old delicate and special fabrics. The cleaning method that should be used in this case is not a wet one, but a dry foam which doesn’t cause problems to the upholstery such as streaking and doesn’t damage the fabrics.

For the purpose of antique upholstery cleaning here we give you a piece of well working instructions given from real professional cleaners on how to do it properly and without any damages. Follow them correctly and you will be satisfied from the achieved results at the end.

Begin with dry vacuuming of your upholstery to remove as much of the accumulated dust and dirt as possible from its surface. However, don’t forget to do it gently without using pressure because of the possibility to damage the fabrics of the upholstery.

Take a dry foam cleaner, bought from a fabric store, and apply it to a cleaning sponge. Then, always test it on a small hidden area of the upholstered furniture, so you can make sure this is not a harmful product for the fabrics. Read carefully the instructions on its label and follow them as prescribed.

Start rubbing with the sponge gently the upholstery and dab from time to time to lift up as much dirt as possible. Take a few towels and place them against the upholstery so you can draw out the remaining foam and dirt there. Remember that in antique upholstery cleaning is required to do this very carefully to protect the fabrics from breaking or stretching.

While the upholstery is still damp, vacuum it one more time. At the end, dry the furniture with blow fans and remember this may take several hours. Use it only after it is completely dry.

Finally when you get the results, you will see how your efforts prolong the life of these beautiful upholstered antique furniture and they keep their good looking and clean appearance longer.

Often referred to as “the second capital” of Scotland, Glasgow is a wonderful city to visit all year round. Furthermore, if you are a history buff like me, you will be pleased to know that the city was founded in the 6th century by St Mungo. Using my Central Glasgow hotel as the centre point, I wandered to and from many of the city’s attractions in an attempt to learn as much as possible about this historically rich setting. Apparently, St Mungo had built a church back in the 6th century and the town that would later become Glasgow grew around it. This was quite typical for this time, as religion was a very influential part of society, if not the focal point.

By 1450, after rapid growth, Glasgow was declared a city. Another important fact about Glasgow is its contribution to the industrial revolution. Like so many other areas during this time, Glasgow was rich in iron and steel production, two essential items that contributed to the success of the revolution. There is an abundance of attractions that tell this story much better than I ever could, so if you are looking to educate yourself on this matter Scotland is the place for you.

Scotland, a rather small country when you compare it to places like Canada, Russia, or even Germany, is easy to get around. They have a wonderful public transportation system that allows one to reach nearly every corner of this beautiful country. Thus, it does not matter is you are staying in Glasgow, Edinburgh, or even as far as the country house hotel Scotland, you will have little issue getting where you want to be. If you are looking for additional information on anything Scotland make sure you approach your hotel staff for answers.

Making a decision concerning your house, one of any kind, you have to be careful. Of all the materialistic things, your home is the one thing that is precious to you. Unfortunately it takes time to understand this concept. It is within the nature of the human to appreciate something only after he has made a mistake and lost it.

This incapability to understand is not actually the person’s fault. From a completely neutral perspective, how can you know of the existence of anything when you haven’t heard about it or saw it. Take a look at babies for example. Their young and undeveloped braid limits them to the vary basics in this world. Just like that, the imagination of grown people can only go so far. There are still questions about the universe we can not answer.

People are acting with haste and without thought when they are under pressure, this is proven. Just like that, rushing something people don’t quite understand is common and it is also no excuse. This is a mistake, a flaw that must be worked on in order to prevent incidental actions, which don’t need much to happen. House manipulation in this case is once again bad.

The good news is that you can pay and hire professional man with a van London movers and be sure that know what to do and how to react, even in the worst case possible. A good suggestion is to hire these guys for the first time, learn from them and use the knowledge to avoid mistakes and doubts the next time when a moving comes. Hopefully that doesn’t have to happen and still this knowledge is priceless.

The feeling of not being able to control the flow of time is familiar to us all. Sometimes we get carried away and seeing the clock and the time we think that time goes faster or slower when in fact it is are minds that are playing tricks to us. Even in a hot situation, the smart thing to do is to stop and think about what has to be done. Bring in the man and van London, call family, call friends, keep moving, keep working, it’s harsh and that’s good.

Removing candle wax from carpet is not always easy, but it is not impossible as well. With patience and some diligence, wax can be successfully removed from any type of carpet. However, to do that, you need to take care not only of the wax, but of the dye in the stain as well. These tips will walk you through the process of removing candle wax from carpet.
Instructions

The easiest way to remove wax is to tackle it when it is solid. Put a few ice cubes into a plastic bag and place the bag over the spilled wax to harden it. Once the wax is hardened enough to break it up, use a spoon to scrape as much of the wax out of the carpet as possible.

To get rid of the remaining candle wax on your carpet, cover the spot with a clean brown paper and run over it with an iron set on low for a few seconds, as suggested by cleaners Collier’s Wood. Be careful not to burn the carpet fibers while ironing the brown paper. The heat from the iron will cause the wax to liquefy and adhere to the paper, removing it from the carpet. If the area affected by wax is too large, you may need more than one brown paper. This will take some time, so be patient.

If there is still any wax left into the carpet fibers, use rubbing alcohol to remove it. The alcohol will help to remove the dye in the stain as well. Pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a clean white cloth and gently rub the spot until all of the wax comes out of the carpet. Once the wax is completely removed, rinse the area with plain water, blot up the excess moisture, and let the carpet air dry completely.

If the candle wax doesn’t come out with the method above, consider hiring cleaners Collier’s Wood to the wax removal instead of you.

The walls in your home will benefit from an occasional dusting. Use a soft cloth on a long-handled broom or brush, or use the brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner to clear dust and any cobwebs that appear.

For finger marks around light switches and door handles, use a damp cloth dipped in white vinegar. If the marks are quite grimy, add a few drops of eucalyptus oil to the cloth. For marks elsewhere on walls, try using a gum eraser (this can be found in stores). This may be all that is necessary.

You may decide to wash down your walls instead. Here are some cleaning tips shared by professional cleaners Canning Town to help you keep the walls in your home clean.

It may seem illogical at first, but you should clean walls from bottom to top. As you clean, the washing water will dribble down the wall along with the grime from the top, and the grime will settle farther down the wall, leaving streaks that will be difficult, if not impossible, to remove.

Use plastic covering on the floor if you want to keep the flooring from becoming wet, but cover the plastic in turn with some old fabric – perhaps an old sheet – to avoid slipping.

You will find that, because you are holding your arms up as you clean, dirty water will be running down your sleeves. Avoid this by attaching toweling or other cloth to your wrists with rubber bands, and wear on old shirt.

If you want to transform the dingy surface of the walls in your home, cleaners Canonbury recommend you the following recipe.

The eucalyptus oil in this recipe acts as a cleaning agent, and adds its properties ad an antifungal and antibacterial wash. You need 4 cups of warm water, 2 cups of white vinegar and 20 drops of eucalyptus or tea tree essential oil. Combine ingredients in a bucket. Use a sponge or clean cloth to wipe down the walls, beginning from the bottom and working your way to the top. Have a second sponge or cloth to wipe down the walls after applying the mixture.

Following these steps will provide you clean and good looking walls. This will also improve the look of every room in your home.

Amanda Holden has had to miss the recent ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ auditions due to giving birth to her daughter Hollie Rose. However booking into a luxury Edinburgh hotel, she is now back with a vengeance.

Holden had to spend three days in an intensive care unit when she was forced into an emergence caesarean and has been recovering since. However fully better now, she is said to be ‘euphoric; that she gets to go back to work and sit next to fellow judges Simon Cowell, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon again. Speaking to The Sun, she states: ‘I’m euphoric to be heading back to the judge’s desk. To be honest, after the last couple of weeks I’m euphoric to be anywhere! With the weather being so extreme, I’m letting my mum have some quality time with her granddaughter. But I’m looking forward to introducing her to everyone on my next trip’. She is expected to part from her baby just for two days after she gave birth to her only 19 days ago. The 40-year-old has come to Edinburgh with it just being ‘a very fleeting visit to Scotland’ Simon Cowell who was seen posing for fans last night (10th Feb 2012) at the Balmoral said that he was excited for her return. All the other judges flew in with private jets but Holden took the train north, arriving at Waverley Station at 6.30pm last night. Amanda too is staying at the Balmoral and she was spotted looking slightly tired She said: “It’s good to be here for the auditions.” Baywatch star Carmen Electra had been replacing her whilst she was ill.

It is the first time that the auditions are taking place in Edinburgh with Simon adding: ‘We are here to find a star and very hopeful. I always like a Scots crowd and you’ve got to remember I’m 25per cent Scottish.’ If you have tickets to watch the auditions, be sure to book into an Edinburgh Hilton hotel as rooms have been filling up fast. Get ready to hear those dreaded red buzzers!

Murrayfield has seen some historic matches in its time. As many try to book into a Murrayfield hotel to get a slice of the action on this international stage, many have arrived to conquer or simply fail. Tomorrow (Feb 13th 2012) is set to continue this trend as the stadium will be opening its doors in order for fans to be able to watch the match between Wales and Scotland.

It has been decided by the SRU that Murrayfield will be opened tomorrow so that the match can be seen in the Thistle Suite, which is one of the hospitality suites in the west stand. In this area, there will be giant screens that will show the game, which is due to kick off at 3pm in the afternoon, whilst also providing drinks and snacks for those who get a tad peckish during proceedings. The doors will be opening to the public at 1.30pm and there will be seating available for up to 500 people so be sure to arrive early to both avoid queues and the disappointment of not nabbing a seat. Last orders at the bar are expected to be at 5.30pm. Entry is completely free, however the stadium is encouraging people to email them or call them on 0131 346 5250 with their details so that the stadium knows how many people they could be expecting on the day. However it will not be the last time they decide to open the doors. They will open again on Saturday 10th March for the Six Nations double-header, when Wales take on Italy and Ireland competes with Scotland, and also for ‘super’ Saturday 17th March when all six teams playing.

Get to enjoy these matches for free and spend your money elsewhere, such as lavishly booking into an Edinburgh Hilton. Either way, enjoy the match as it is meant to be enjoyed, with other loyal fans in a perfect environment. Now you can’t complain about that!
